Skills and Competencies
- Programming experience in Python or Julia, with hands-on development of tools for data analysis, visualisation, and statistical modelling.
- Practical experience using SQL to query, manipulate, and manage large datasets.
- Familiarity with data visualisation libraries such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar.
- Solid understanding of basic statistical concepts and data wrangling techniques.
- Exposure to machine learning, dashboarding tools, or Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Strong desire to learn and grow in a technical, data-driven environment.
- Friendly, team-oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate.
- Clear communication skills, especially when explaining technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability and openness to feedback—being coachable is key.
Education
Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
Responsibilities
Support the development of catastrophe models for cyber risk through data analysis, tool building, and collaboration.
- Analyse large datasets to uncover patterns and insights that support cyber risk modelling.
- Translate data into meaningful conclusions that inform model development and business decisions.
- Develop scripts and tools in Python or Julia for data processing, visualisation, and analysis.
- Automate repetitive tasks and contribute to broader modelling pipelines.
- Collaborate with team members to understand project goals and deliver data-driven insights.
- Present findings through clear visualisations, reports, or presentations.
- Participate in team discussions, code reviews, and documentation efforts.
- Stay up to date with new tools, techniques, and trends in data science and cybersecurity.

Our Model Development Department team is responsible for building state-of-the-art catastrophe models for cyber risk.
