About The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hydraulic modeller, someone with hydraulic modelling experience or someone with a waste networks background looking for a change and the opportunity to join a dynamic team. You'll play a pivotal role in identifying and developing effective solutions to wastewater network challenges, ensuring long-term network health and optimal performance. This is a technical role focused on driving intervention/solution development through a data-driven approach. This will include a focus on growth-related solutions, and will be crucial in ensuring our networks can effectively accommodate future demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Insights: Oversee the analysis of collected data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Hydraulic Modelling & Solution Development:
- Leverage your hydraulic modelling expertise to develop and refine network models.
- Translate data and modelling insights into innovative system-based solutions for wastewater network challenges.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Asset Management Specialists to understand root causes and develop targeted solutions.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including hydraulic modellers, to ensure solutions align with overall network objectives and priorities.
- Feasibility & Decision Support: Conduct feasibility studies, including cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment, to evaluate potential solutions. Develop comprehensive solution proposals, including implementation plans, resource requirements, and expected outcomes.
- Decision Making: Provide clear and concise communication to support Capital Maintenance and Capital investment decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to share best practices and identify emerging solutions.
- Team Development: Provide coaching to junior Asset Engineers, demonstrating a strong understanding of data-driven asset management practices and solution development processes.
Essential Skills And Experience
- Strong understanding of wastewater network processes, risks, and management strategies.
- Proven experience in hydraulic modelling, or relative waste water networks experience.
- Proven track record in collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex wastewater network data.
- Solution-oriented mindset with a passion for developing innovative solutions.
- Strong project management skills, including cost-benefit analysis and business case development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills And Experience
- Experience in Engineering in waste networks, technical design, or a related field within wastewater networks.
- Knowledge of Tactical Asset Planning, Investment Planning or similar approaches.
