Job Title: Asset Engineer
Location: Falmer (hybrid working model - 2 days a week in office/site)
Salary: starting from £45,000 depending on experience
Job Summary
Southern Water are excited to be recruiting for a new
Asset Engineer within our Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance of assets under their control to relevant design standards, providing assurance through regular site visits and detailed reporting to senior management.
Responsibilities
- Completing site visits to assess asset condition, highlighting any issues or concerns
- Compiling reports on findings including photographic evidence
- Providing recommendations for improvement and remedial works where necessary
- Ensuring all sites have up-to-date risk assessments in place
- Monitoring performance against key KPI’s such as critical spills and environmental incidents
- Managing reactive work orders raised by operations teams relating to assets under your control
- Working closely with Operations and Delivery teams to identify potential risks and trends
- Making decisions regarding short term solutions to maintain asset integrity
- Liaising with internal stakeholders such as Health & Safety, Environmental and Planning teams
- Identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs
Qualifications
- Chartered engineer status (or working towards)
- A background in civil engineering or construction discipline
- Experience in a site based role within the utilities industry
- Knowledge of water industry regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks effectively
- IT literate – proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between home and office and site visits.
