This is a hybrid role working 3 days in the office (Manchester location) and 2 days working from home.
Role Purpose:
Supporting Senior Underwriter (Asset Finance) in analysing and structuring credit proposals, working within delegated mandate or recommending for approval, and maintaining regular contact with broker base to discuss/negotiate potential transactions.
Responsibilities:
New Business
- Analyse, negotiate and structure proposals to be approved under own mandate or recommended to credit for approval for both Asset Finance.
- Spreading of financial accounts and applying/developing Bank’s internal rating models
- Manage sanctioned proposals to drawdown with the help of Credit and Administration Staff.
- Research industry sectors and specific collateral to support credit application process.
- Support Senior Underwriter in preparation of credit papers and reports 2.
Brokers/Intermediaries
- Maintain daily contact with Bank’s broker base and arrange internal/external meetings where necessary.
- Encourage flow of renewal business where appropriate.
- Maintain efficient and professional service, and good customer/banker Relationships.
- Assist where applicable in conducting broker reviews/approvals
Security Perfection & Maintenance
- Close liaison with any professional advisers.
- Monitoring adherence to loan offer terms.
- Ensuring that any security valuations or inspection reports comply with the bank’s procedures and following up promptly any matters which do not meet the required standards.
- General liaison with brokers/customers to resolve any issues outstanding and requiring attention.
General Matters
- Manage collection activities as required
- Assist with development and maintenance of the Asset Finance Lending Procedures
- Ensure compliance with FSA and internal policies and procedures
Skills and Experience sought:
- An experienced individual within Asset Finance, used to being part of a team, who is also self-motivated and has a strong work ethic.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of Asset Finance, with the ability to take on new responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate accurately, both verbally and in writing.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to manipulate information databases.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure to tight timescales whilst paying attention to detail.
