Asset Investment Senior Engineer - REPEX

You’ll be at the heart of how we plan, justify, and deliver smarter, data-driven decisions that shape the future of our network. From regulatory insight to technical leadership, your work will influence how millions of people experience energy.

In this role, you’ll take the lead in shaping asset strategies that strike the right balance between cost, risk, and performance. You’ll dive deep into complex datasets to guide investment decisions and ensure we meet our regulatory commitments. Working closely with engineering and investment teams, you’ll embed robust decision-making frameworks and support our journey toward ISO55001 accreditation. Your insights will influence strategic planning across the business, helping us deliver long-term value to customers and stakeholders while driving operational success.

• Strategic Impact – Influence the long-term direction of Cadent’s asset base, aligning investment with business priorities and regulatory expectations.
• Engineering Leadership – Apply your technical expertise to develop asset strategies that underpin our business plans and operational decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with teams across Asset Data, Investment Planning, and Strategic Networks to ensure strategies are deliverable and data-driven.
• Continuous Improvement – Drive maturity in our asset management approach, embedding best practice and supporting capability development across the function.
• Regulatory Influence – Play a key role in regulatory submissions and ensure our strategies align with RIIO and other frameworks.

• Qualifications – Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience. Incorporated Engineer or recognised Asset Management certification desirable. Chartered status preferred.
• Experience – Proven track record in asset management and investment planning for complex engineering assets.
• Skills – Strategic thinker, strong communicator, and effective collaborator with excellent influencing skills.
• Technical Expertise – Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to inform investment decisions.
• Business Acumen – Understanding of UK energy systems, RIIO regulatory framework, and process safety principles.
