The Role
We are looking for an experienced Asset Manager to take ownership of £500M+ high-value assets across our global offshore wind portfolio. In this senior technical leadership role, you will be accountable for asset maximising performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving commercial optimisation. You will chair client-facing reviews and drive data-driven maintenance strategies that directly impact operational excellence and profitability.
As our Asset Manager, you will deliver critical annual asset documentation, chair monthly performance meetings with major clients (OFTOs, Generators, TSOs), and lead asset improvement projects with clear ROI justification. You will have hands-on HV asset management experience, ideally within offshore wind or utility transmission environments, strong technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and familiarity with the regulatory environment with a focus on leading data-driven decisions.
Our office is based in Bamber Bridge, Preston and this would be our preferred location, but we will consider experienced profiles from across the UK.
Role Accountabilities
- Strategic Portfolio Leadership: Manage £500M+ HV infrastructure assets with full P&L accountability for maintenance budgets and operational performance.
- Client-Facing Authority: Chair monthly asset performance meetings with OFTOs and major stakeholders, delivering ranked risk registers and performance KPIs.
- Technical Leadership: Lead major asset interventions >£100k and manage technical teams including Asset Planner and asset management systems.
- Documentation Accountability: Deliver compliant annual asset strategies, health reviews, and execution plans within contractual deadlines
- Regulatory Excellence: Ensure 100% compliance with Grid Code, STC, and marine licensing, preventing potential £millions in outage penalties.
- Performance Optimization: Deliver 98.5%+ asset availability through optimized maintenance strategies and continuous OPEX improvements.
- Innovation Support: In collaboration with the engineering team, champion engineering solutions with quantified ROI and risk mitigation benefits across the offshore wind portfolio.
- Asset Management Systems and Data Management: Oversee asset management systems and data governance.
Knowledge, Qualifications And Experience
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Chartered Engineer status preferred.
- Strong technical expertise in high voltage grid systems up to 400kV.
- Offshore wind or OFTO industry experience.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver asset management strategies.
- Skilled in optimising maintenance programmes and operational planning.
- Familiar with asset management principles (e.g. ISO 55001) and systems.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing communication skills.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities.
