About This Role
As a Assistant Accountant in Finance your role you will take responsibility for day-to-day processes that contribute to a variety of the UK & Ireland finance department activities including reconciliation, banking, payments, financial control and accounts payable.
Working as part of a local finance team within the Ria group of companies the role-holder will look to ensure that finance operations are conducted in a controlled and efficient manner as per the daily schedule to ensure compliance with wider group reporting requirements.
The role will also look to provide cover for both the accounts payable clerk and management accountant where required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Review and resolve cash discrepancies between the accounting and operating platforms.
- Allocation of cash received from security van pickups to store ledgers
- Post bank debit/credits to the accounting ledgers
- Assist in the processing of agent/supplier banking details into the payment system
- Review and approve invoices processed by the accounts payable team
- Review and approve expenses from UK team members
- Ensure adequate review/recovery of store staff shortages
- Point of contact for queries on agent commission payments
- Valuation Offices submissions
- Assist in payment processing
Position Requirements
Previous experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Good understanding of double–entry bookkeeping
- Studying towards or holding professional qualification (e.g. AAT)
- Competent in MS Excel (Ideally also MS Access)
