We’re looking for an Assistant Contract Manager to support the delivery of technical and estates services at Birmingham City University. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic academic environment where operational excellence, safety, and service continuity are critical to the success of students and staff alike.
Working closely with the Contract Manager and Account Director, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day management of services, reporting, compliance, and stakeholder engagement across the university estate.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Contract Manager to ensure delivery of services across the university campus meets contractual obligations.
- Preparing financial and KPI reports, and analysing productivity and asset performance.
- Attending client meetings with university stakeholders and assisting with monthly contract reviews.
- Supporting with planning and resource coordination, ensuring efficient use of staff and materials.
- Promoting and monitoring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supporting the Contract Manager in maintaining excellent relationships with BCU staff and departments.
- Helping to identify improvements, added-value services, and efficiencies.
- Supporting staff development, engagement, and motivation in line with Dalkia’s values.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, and data analysis.
- Understanding of contract KPIs, P&L, WIP, and commercial awareness.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a customer-facing environment.
- Reliability and self motivation is a must!
- Experience in facilities, estates, or technical services (preferably in education or public sector).
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
