We're looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our Design team based in Salford. Hours: 37.5 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Engineer , you'll be working within the Civil Engineering team, supporting them in producing highways designs, drawings, reports and supporting documentation in accordance with the brief, timescales and budgetary allocation.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Producing and checking coordinated drawings, design models, schedules and specifications within a quality assurance environment, checking and coordinating civil and structural design information with other technical disciplines, visiting building sites, carrying out site surveys and inspections, visiting other Kier, consultant, and client offices on occasions to attend meetings
- Preparing preliminary and detailed designs in accordance with approved design procedures for local and national authorities, supporting the engineers & senior engineers within the design team on various design duties including but not limited to, production of design schedules, health, safety and welfare contract documentation in accordance with the construction, design & management regulations 2015 and production of design drawings
- Assisting in the delivery of technical and feasibility studies satisfying client's technical specifications, assessment of potential risks, materials, and costs, complying with Kier's & client's guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc
- Delivering technical files and other technical documentation as required, conducting on site investigations and analyse data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)
- Contributing towards technical excellence and innovation across the team, assisting in the provision of innovative solutions to engineering problems
