We're looking for an Assistant Estimator to join our Eastern Construction team based in either Witham, Essex or Waterbeach, Cambridge.
Location: Witham, Essex or Waterbeach, Cambridge - hybrid working available, with travel to the office required
What will you be responsible for?
As an Assistant Estimator you'll be working within the Eastern Construction team, supporting them in the estimation of the costs of projects, assist determining contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Supporting the winning of contracts by estimating costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting value engineering
- Assist in the process of assessing, preparing, validating, adjudication and final submission. This includes minimising subcontractor and material costs, communicating with design, planning, commercial and bid management functions.
- Estimate costs in order to meet or exceed customer requirements, including obtaining and negotiating quotes.
- Build and retain commercial relationships with customers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors during the tender and fulfilment process
- Establish and plan the requirements for internal and external resources, in particular identifying and coordinating suppliers and subcontractors

- Experience of construction methodology, ability to assess build ability & commercial awareness
- Similar experience within an estimating role
