We are seeking an Assistant Finance Systems Accountant to support the ongoing development and optimisation of our financial systems, with a particular focus on Workday. This role in our Management Accounts team is key to enabling transformation of our Finance function.
You will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integrity, efficiency and accuracy of financial data and reporting. You will help maintain and improve system processes, support users across the business and contribute to the continuous improvement of our finance systems landscape. You will also be responsible for the delivery of transformation project work.
This role requires 3 days office based
Core Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and configuration of Workday Financials, including general ledger, reporting, and business processes.
- Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of data flows between Workday and other systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement system improvements and automation opportunities.
- Provide first-line ticket support to Workday users, resolving queries and escalating issues where necessary.
- Document and maintain system processes and user guides to support training and consistency.
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, and deployment of new features or modules.
- Assist in the development of dashboards and reports to support financial analysis and decision-making
- Independently research potential solutions to issues identified and work with others to put them in place.
- Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring system data and processes meet internal and external requirements.
- Ensure system outputs are robust, compliant, and support both current activities and future growth objectives.
- Work with the wider Finance team to embed best practice and professionalism in system use.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement and work with others to implement and see these through to completion.
About You
Essential Skills
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified or part qualified.
- Experience or strong interest in financial systems, particularly Workday.
- Understanding of how business processes and transaction flows drive our financial reporting.
- Intermediate or advanced IT skills including MS Office suite, especially Excel.
- Evidence of data analysis, with and attention to detail and a drive for process improvement.
