Brief Description
Assist and support the Level Crossing Managers (LCM) withall aspects of level crossing risk management including but not limited to:data gathering and analysis, risk assessment preparation, asset inspection,stakeholder management, safety awareness and compliance.
About The Role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
- AssistLCMs with pre and post site visit preparation, including but not limited toarranging joint site visit with stakeholders, corresponding with authorisedusers and documenting responses, interrogating local authority planningwebsites, environment websites, and internal systems (GeoRINM, DST), provideasset condition data including outstanding faults, deploy census cameras etc.
- Undertakelevel crossing inspection, faulting and undertaking minor maintenance(including cameras, cleaning of signs, minor repairs and vegetation managementaround the approaches and access area of level crossings); accurately reportall work completed/not completed and check that work not completed isfaulted.
- SupportLCMs with analysing, documenting, and tracking trend changes from census camerafootage. Raising significant changes, deliberate acts of misuse and visibletrends in usage with the LCMs and support with any follow-up actions.
- AssistLCMs with preparation of narrative risk assessments as required, includinganalysing census camera data, and chasing up information from stakeholders.Work with LCMs to prepare and deliver Safety Awareness events working closelywith community safety managers, Train Operating Companies (TOCs) /FreightOperating Companies (FOCs) and British Transport Police (BTP) in the planningand delivery of events.
- AssistLCMs in the preparation of and attendance at Road Rail Partnership Groupmeetings, taking minutes and actions as required.
- Workwith stakeholders on behalf of LCMs to manage outputs from meetings, progressfault rectification and updates to systems.
- SupportLCM team by tracking completed Fatality and Weighted Injuries (FWI) reductionactivity and updates periodically by keeping the Benefit Report up to date.
- SupportLCMs team with compliance, including but not limited to maintaining incidentdatabase, monitoring trends and trigger points, preparation of joint long-termstrategy documents, responses to planning applications, maintaining levelcrossing files etc.
- AssistLCMs team with projects including signal renewals and timetable change.
Essential

- Proven excellent written and verbalcommunication
- Demonstrable excellent interpersonalskills
- Proven analytical awareness andattention to detail
- Successful experience in planning andorganisation
- Proven time management skills
- Able and willing to drive vehicles asrequired by business need
- Computer literate in basic ITpackages
Desirable
- Understanding of level crossings
- Attained a Health & Safetyqualification
- Experience of working in a safetycritical environment

Salary: £32,332 per annum
