We’re part of Biscuit International, Europe’s largest private-label biscuit and bread substitute manufacturer, with a proud heritage of over 400 years. Based in Gateshead, our site produces over 4,300 tonnes of biscuits annually across three production lines.

We’re looking for a detail-driven and ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a key role supporting the business with insightful financial analysis, performance reporting, and cost modelling to drive informed decision-making.

You’ll work closely with the Operations Director and wider teams to monitor factory performance, develop KPIs, and support pricing and forecasting activities. If you enjoy turning data into actionable insights and want to be part of a dynamic, growing business, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and assist with month-end close

Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities for cost savings

Prepare weekly performance reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders

Maintain accurate records and support year-end close processes

Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and support decision-making

Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and group reporting

Produce standard costs for new projects and analyse key cost drivers

Support customer pricing negotiations with detailed cost breakdowns

Provide cover for critical finance tasks during leave periods

Contribute to ad hoc financial projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar finance role

Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

Excellent attention to detail and ability to explain complex financial data clearly

Commercial awareness and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

Experience in FMCG or manufacturing is desirable
