Assistant Management Accountant

The Role

The Assistant Management Accountant will be primarily responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in the provision of the management, accounting, analysis and reporting of the company's costs and profitability. They will also play a key role in analysing and reporting actual manufacturing costs against standard costs and collaboratively working with stakeholders to improve business performance to maximise profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess new customer credit worthiness using financial analysis and credit reports, setting appropriate credit limits in line with company policies.
• Follow-up and negotiate structured payment plans.
• Maintain accurate customer records, reconcile accounts, and resolve invoice disputes in collaboration with the finance and sales teams.
• Monitor daily AR (Accounts Receivable) reports and flag high-risk accounts, minimising bad debt exposure.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on debtor performance and collection forecasts for senior management.
• Promote strong customer relationships by handling queries professionally and maintaining a customer-centric approach.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
• Investigate costs and suggesting cost saving measures.
• Continually review and keep product pricing schedules up to date.
• Monitor, analyse and report on variances in actual costs against standard costs.
• Assist in audits whilst working with external auditors.
• Assist with stock reports and stock counts.
• Process credit card expenses.
• Support and actively promoting brand integrity and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by ensuring there is engagement and communication between teams, customers and suppliers that continually drives improvement.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
• Complete any other duties as and when required as direct by a Company Director and/or Senior Manager.
• Complete ad hoc duties for the Finance Managers and Finance Director.

Experience:

• FMCG or manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
• Experience/ understanding of standard costings would be an advantage.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.

Education/Qualifications:

• Part-Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant – ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, AAT

Hours of Work:

• Hours of work will be from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
