You’ll be joining our team that support the NHS and other public sector organisations in optimising value in the healthcare service through finding productivity and efficiency opportunities at an entity and system level.
You will sit in our Customer, Operations and Infrastructure team, with a focus on the healthcare sector and more broadly in government. This team provides in-depth advice on the strategic, financial, regulatory, operational, customer and commercial issues driving investments and operational decision making – through from initial strategic advice to financing, optimising cost structures and developing business cases and delivery plans to get change approved within government.
Given our position as a leading advisor to the NHS and other healthcare and government bodies, we are frequently approached to support the most complex and high-profile programmes. Joining our team will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping providers, commissioners and regulators address their most challenging issues. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our teams in the London, Birmingham, Leeds or Manchester offices who will work as part of a national team and we are also interested in those looking to take opportunities as they arise to work overseas such as in the Middle East.
What will you be doing?
As an Assistant Manager in our growing healthcare practice, you will be central to the development the delivery of cost and value optimisation, integration, operating model development, transformation, and financial sustainability programmes.
Projects regularly involve working within a wider a multidisciplinary team across KPMG with technical, business, data science, business management, finance or IT skills. Successful candidates will therefore work collaboratively with KPMG colleagues and clients to:

There is broad opportunity across the public sector for productivity and efficiency focussed advice and there will be opportunities to work across sectors, although the primary focus of this role is on the healthcare sector.
What will you need to do it?
You will be a talented and ambitious individual with previous experience of operating model transformation, or cost, efficiency and value optimisation work in the NHS or private healthcare.
You will be expected to demonstrate many of the following characteristics, although as a training organisation we are interested in hearing from a broad pool of applicants and helping them develop in the next stage of their career.
