About the role:
At NEXT we have a great opportunity for an Assistant Marketing Operations Manager to join our Retail Marketing team on a 6 months fixed term contract. As the Assistant Marketing Operations Manager you will coordinate key marketing projects and campaigns, predominantly for retail stores, including effective communication with relevant internal departments, retail stores, the retail field team and external contractors/ suppliers. You will also deputise for the Marketing Operations Manager, when required, which will include supporting & coordinating other members of the team, attending meetings & making any key decisions required.
Coordination:
- Implement retail projects and campaigns, as required, for the marketing operations department in line with the critical path to ensure the required deadlines are achieved.
- Take full responsibility for relevant projects and campaigns, including research, purchasing, allocation, delivery and communication. Work with other members of the team on relevant projects & campaigns, if required, ensuring they are managing workload & time effectively.
- Ensure progress on relevant projects and campaigns are discussed with Marketing Operations Manager when key decisions need to be made, including presenting suggested preferences, and ensure all projects & campaigns meet agreed budgets.
- Where required coordinate with other internal departments to ensure relevant information and assets are used in projects and campaigns.
Communication:
- Maintain close relationships with all internal stakeholders, such as Shopfitting, Graphics & Brand Marketing, to ensure you have the relevant information and assets for projects and campaigns.
- Communicate effectively on marketing projects and campaigns to all relevant departments within next, including brand marketing senior management and our retail field sales team.
- Ensure all written communication for stores on relevant projects and campaigns is produced to ensure the stores can implement them successfully.
- Ensure other members of the team are fully briefed on relevant projects & campaigns, so they can provide support for the retail stores on any queries they may have.
- Maintain good relationships with external suppliers / contractors to ensure that they deliver any projects and campaigns they are involved in to the highest standards and be able to discuss with them any issues with service levels that might arise.
Other responsibilities:
- Able to evaluate current projects and campaigns within the department and suggest new ideas, including potential cost savings. Able to effectively research any new projects, as requested, and ensure presentations show findings clearly and concisely.
- Responsible for ensuring the distribution of marketing allocations, via Bristol warehouse, is clearly communicated, including key dates, any supplier issues and instigating conversations with the warehouse & distribution to ensure that there are no concerns on meeting deadlines set.
- Attend meetings with both internal & external stakeholders, in Head Office and at external venues, as required. This will include meetings with brand marketing senior management and our senior retail field sales team & sales director.
- Able to regularly update and assess budgets, highlighting any areas of concern to the Marketing Operations Manager.
- Support and motivate the rest of the marketing operations team, alongside the Marketing Operations Manager, both generally and with specific projects and campaigns.
About you:
Essential Criteria:
- Strong analytical ability with experience with excel and google sheets
- Excellent communicator with an ability to communicate at all levels, both verbally and written
- Great organisational skills, as will be involved in multiple projects simultaneously
- Able to work as part of a team or individually
- Proficient in Word & Excel, in particular excel
- Proficient in G-Suite - G-Mail, Sheets, Docs & Slides, in particular Sheets
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in a marketing environment including print and coordination
- Experience in coordinating projects
- Experience of supervising team members
