Assistant Project Accountant to support the high-profile
A57 project. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team delivering real impact in infrastructure and finance.
Location: A57, Mottram in Longdendale, Hyde SK14 6PW
What you'll be doing
- Preparing and managing schedules for applications for payment
- Supporting the AfP submission process and liaising with project customers
- Collaborating with operational and commercial teams to ensure financial clarity
- Assisting with staff and agency reporting, onboarding, and HR-finance processes
- Delivering insightful ad-hoc analysis to support commercial decisions
- Contributing to forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Addressing timesheet recovery issues and preparing balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitoring project costs and providing actionable insights
- Jumping into ad-hoc tasks that keep our finance engine running smoothly
Who we're looking for
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English – Grade C or above
- Part-qualified accountant (AAT/CIMA) – or working towards it
- Experience in cost management, reporting, and reconciliation
- Strong Excel skills and a sharp analytical mind
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Organised, deadline-focused, and eager to take ownership
- A self-starter attitude with a drive to grow and learn
