Assistant Quantity Surveyor

At BakerHicks, we’re looking for an ambitious and proactive Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support our commercial and procurement teams on some of the UK’s most complex and technically fascinating infrastructure projects. Based in Manchester, this is your chance to work alongside industry leaders, gain experience in regulated sectors, and play a real part in the delivery of nationally significant schemes.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting the procurement and administration of contracts and subcontracts
• Assisting with cost tracking, valuations, payment applications, and change control
• Learning how to administer key forms of contract such as NEC and JCT
• Working closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet project milestones
• Helping monitor project costs, risks, and cash flow forecasting

What we’re looking for:

• A degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Ideally some work experience or a placement in construction/commercial environments
• Enthusiasm to develop commercially and technically in a supportive team
• Strong attention to detail, Excel confidence, and a proactive mindset
