About The Role
We’re looking for a motivated
Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment where you’ll gain hands-on experience and work towards professional qualifications with RICS, ICES, or CIOB. You’ll play a key role in managing project costs, ensuring quality standards, and engaging with our supply chain.
What you'll be doing
As a Assistant QS, you’ll be involved in a wide range of quantity surveying duties, including:
- Supporting cost management and value engineering activities
- Measuring and valuing work in line with project requirements
- Assisting with procurement and subcontractor management
- Preparing cost reconciliation statements and reports
- Using ERP and BMS systems for project tracking
- Contributing to weekly and monthly work programmes
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
- Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders
You’ll also be encouraged to maintain a Personal Development Plan and support the development of junior team members where appropriate.
Who we're looking for
We’re Seeking Someone Who Is Either
- A recent graduate with a BSc in Quantity Surveying, or
- An Assistant QS with proven experience in a similar role
You Should Also Have
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and achievement-focused mindset
- A good understanding of the construction industry and the role of a QS
- A desire to work towards professional membership with RICS, ICES, or CIOB Experience in using Oracle R12, Good Excel and Word skills. An awareness and understanding of different Contract Forms (NEC4, JCT etc)
Experience with cost management systems and construction project documentation is desirable.
