We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team on an exciting new residential development in Hertford. This landmark scheme comprises 446 high-quality homes, including 29 contemporary townhouses and 417 stylish apartments across four architecturally designed blocks.
From day one, you will be working alongside a highly experienced commercial team, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to be directly involved in procurement activities from the very start, allowing you to develop your expertise on a project of significant scale and complexity.
The role
- Assist in the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and procurement documentation.
- Support the identification of risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Work closely with the technical team, design consultants, and the wider project team to ensure designs align with approved budgets and procurement schedules.
- Coordinate early supply chain engagement to contribute to design development and cost efficiency.
- Manage the tendering process, including preparing trade packages, tender lists, and subcontract documentation.
- Monitor and control project costs, including processing subcontractor payments, managing variations, and agreeing final accounts.
- Attend design, progress, and commercial meetings, ensuring accurate records and timely communication.
- Contribute to the delivery of sustainability objectives and company procurement standards.
Skills required
- Ideally Quantity Surveying or Construction degree level educated with industry experience.
- Preferably membership of a professional body (CIOB, RICS).
- Proactive, self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.
- Keen to deliver exceptional customer service.
- An effective leader, motivator and mentor.
- Flexible and reliable.
