Assistant Reporting Accountant - ESG

We are looking for a Assistant Reporting Accountant to join our London team on a full time basis with hybrid working.

You will assist in the financial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting to Munich Re Group and ensure that they are delivered on time and to the desired quality level.

You will also prepare financial reporting data to satisfy various regulatory returns and management information requirements, for assigned legal entities.

The assistant reporting accountant also has a responsibility to maintain an effective control environment with appropriate quality.

Responsibilities

• Group Reporting - Quarterly reporting of actuals, forecasts and plans for companies within the UK group to the ultimate parent company, Munich Re.
• Audit Files - Ensure quarterly audit files are produced, reviewed and signed off, ultimately providing transparent and financial information for each balance on the general ledger.
• Financial Reviews – Assist with financial due diligence analysis of coverholders, brokers and delegated authorities' financials to assess financial suitability for business.

Knowledge and Skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• A passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving positive change through ESG practices.
• Awareness of ESG reporting standards, frameworks, and regulations, including ISSB, SECR, EU Taxonomy, and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyse financial and non-financial data.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information to different stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
