As an Assistant Risk Manager at Schroders Personal Wealth, you will help provide effective risk management support and oversight across in accordance with SPW’s risk appetite; providing the tools and analytics to maintain and improve risk management across our business.

Location: National / London

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: National - £40,004 - £44,004 London - £46,663 - £51,329

This role is responsible for supporting the 1st line to implement the Risk Management Framework. You will oversee the process of risk identification and scenario setting, as well as risk and control assessments on an ongoing basis.

  • Providing independent oversight and assurance of the effectiveness of risk management in relevant business areas
  • Supporting 1st line identification, assessment and mitigation of risks; ensuring they are adequately collected in the firm’s system of record.
  • Monitoring 1st line performance against risk appetite tolerances and thresholds and escalating where these are breached
  • Supporting the embedding and continuous use of the Risk Management Framework.
  • Providing ongoing support and maintenance of, as well as analytics from systems in place to support the Risk Management Framework.
  • Supporting risk monitoring and assurance activities and helping ensure that risk artefacts are up to date and effective.
  • Analysing key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identifying possible impacts on the business.


Qualifications & Skills (Examples)

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience ideally from a similar wealth management firm or risk management experience from other regulated financial services firms.
  • An understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information with stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Proficient in numeracy and literacy, with advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as a desire to work with risk systems and data and reporting tooling.
