What You’ll Do:
The Assistant Sales Manager is responsible for assisting the Regional Sales Managers with container sales and trading activity with assigned customers in the Med area (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey) and the UK. This role will support the sales team working towards the achievement of price, volume, and inventory goals. In this role, there is potential to expand and grow responsibilities within Triton Container Sales ("TCS").
- Manage customer relationships with the aim of positioning TCS as the preferred supplier with “last look” at each of our customers container purchasing needs.
- Work closely with the TCS team to devise, agree, and execute plans for each customer on increasing market share and developing business in line with the department’s overall price/volume objectives.
- Cover for Regional Sales Managers as and when needed.
- Be a day-to-day liaison between the Regional Sales Manager and the Customer Service Representatives.
- Some travel throughout assigned region.
- High frequency communication with existing customers, and colleagues as necessary.
- Assist with TCS Digital Marketing Campaigns as well as lead follow up in CRM.
- Work with regional team members to ensure our customer service delivery meets the needs of our customers.
- Coordinate with the Logistics Manager for Europe & Africa to push out or pull in sale inventory on domestic moves as appropriate.
- Other responsibilities and projects which may arise.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related discipline.
- 0-2 years of experience in servicing and building relationships with customers.
- Knowledge of the container shipping industry preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products required with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Written and verbal fluency in English and Italian required, Spanish a plus.
- Ability to work well with diverse cultures and liaise with colleagues globally.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- A high-energy and enthusiastic individual with a positive attitude.
- Excellent decision-making and multi-tasking skills.
- Willingness to work outside regular office hours as reasonably required by the business.
