Assistant Site Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a refurbishment project involving cavity wall installation, replacement of windows and doors, door undercuts, and the installation of a new ventilation system. This contract role is ideal for candidates who have previously supported similar works within residential or commercial property environments.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Site Manager with day‑to‑day onsite operations to ensure works progress safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Oversee subcontractors completing cavity wall insulation, window and door installations, door undercuts, and ventilation system fitting.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, compliance, and workmanship.
Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, including maintaining site documentation and supporting toolbox talks.
Coordinate with trades, suppliers, and site personnel to maintain workflow and resolve any onsite issues promptly.
Support the management of material deliveries, site logistics, and scheduling.

Record daily progress and contribute to reporting for project stakeholders.

Assist with snagging, handover processes, and ensuring project timelines are met.

Requirements

Previous experience in a similar Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor role.
Knowledge of cavity wall insulation, window/door installation, ventilation systems, or related building refurbishment works.
Strong understanding of onsite health and safety standards (SSSTS/SMSTS desirable).
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a site delivery team.
CSCS card (required).
