JSS Are working with a Leading Specialty Insurer for an Assistant Syndicate Accountant. This role sits within the Syndicate Finance function of a London-based insurance organisation operating in the specialty market. The position supports senior finance professionals in delivering Lloyd's and group reporting's to fit regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of core regulatory returns in line with Lloyd’s reporting standards and deadlines
- Assist with ancillary submissions to relevant regulatory bodies
- Oversee the offshore finance operations team, ensuring robust balance sheet controls and accurate bookkeeping
- Review and sign off key reconciliations to audit standards, escalating issues as needed
- Maintain trial balances, including investment and cash asset processes
- Contribute to the maintenance and testing of internal controls for group reporting (e.g., SOX compliance)
- Identify and implement process improvements through feedback and collaboration
- Liaise with external auditors, providing requested data and responses
The successful candidate will have:
- 1-2 years of experience within finance in an insurance business (Preferably a specialty insurer)
- Strong academics (Either University or School Leaver)
- A drive to develop into syndicate reporting's
