We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Team Manager to join our Family Safeguarding Team in the West of the district.
Our Family Safeguarding teams are dedicated to improving the outcomes of Children and Families within West Berkshire. The role
- You will manage a small team of social workers who, utilising the Family Safeguarding Model work in collaboration with other specialist workers including Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Recovery Workers and Mental Health Practitioners to offer group based interventions to families.
- You will be responsible for overseeing the management of Social Workers’ allocated caseloads, providing advice, direction and support to team members where required.
- Alongside the team manager, you will monitor the quality of service delivery and outcomes, taking action as necessary to address performance and ensure best practice.
- You will undertake professional and reflective supervision of the team, carrying out annual performance appraisals, 1-1s and address performance issues where they occur.
The ideal candidate would have the following skills and attributes:
- You will need to have direct management experience within a statutory children's social care service
- You will have five years post-qualifying experience in a relevant social work field.
- You will have the ability to adapt and cope with a changing environment and support your team in these circumstances.
- You will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, guidance and policies.
