Job Purpose
As a Financial Institution Assistant Underwriter, based in our London office you will be employed by our legal entity HCC Service Company Inc and that trades under the Tokio Marine HCC name. As such, you will form part of a team of professionals that focus on developing our London portfolio. You will directly report
to the Financial Lines Manager – Financial Institutions and, after initial in-house training, contribute to the maintenance and growth of the Underwriting portfolio by assisting Underwriters in pre-Underwriting analysis and post-binding processing, ensuring the end-to-end process is fully compliant with Tokio Marine
HCC guidelines. You will be key in helping maintain profitable relationships with brokers and insureds and your role will fully support and comply with the company’s objectives and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain broker relations
- Analyse data relating to Financial Lines clients: study financial, regional/national economic trends and industry conditions in the assigned underwriting discipline
- Assist Underwriters in accurately recording risk details; building broker relationships as required; developing knowledge of the class of business and the accounts written; retrieving data for Underwriters as requested; accurately and on time
- Maintain underwriting documentation/files; in compliance with Tokio Marine HCC guidelines
- Communicate with other departments to ensure accuracy of data and compliance with Tokio Marine HCC guidelines
- Follow Underwriting guidelines and assist Underwriters with underwriting, pricing and negotiation recommendations
- Coordinate and/or participate in special projects
- Attend off-site conferences, trade shows, seminars and meetings

- Be recognised and trusted by brokers as the first point of contact.
- Liaise and develop relationships with key brokers.
