Job Profile Summary
Responsible for providing support to the underwriting team. Interpret and prepare underwriting data to provide comprehensive risk analyses and supplementary information to support the underwriting process.
Supporting all aspects of the Property Delegated Authority underwriting team, including underwriting performance monitoring, client relationship management, and servicing new and renewal business.
Job Description
Support underwriters in all aspects of underwriting and management of the account
Underwriting proficiency and knowledge across both the International and USA portfolios
Underwriting performance monitoring monthly
Underwriting, servicing, and preparing new and renewal business
Underwriting presentations to key stakeholders including brokers and management
Manage relationships with key stakeholders including brokers, clients, and internal teams
Communicating to brokers our underwriting and risk appetite
To assist in providing a full and comprehensive service to brokers
Responsibility for the accuracy and upkeep of all written premium data on Chaucer's Policy Administration System for all risks written within the area of responsibility
Providing statistical information to the underwriters when required, liaising with credit control regarding premium payments and monitoring renewal lists
Ensuring that all systems are kept fully up to date following amendments and endorsements
Check slips for Risk Admin and advise for slip entry
Monitoring catastrophe aggregate accumulations
Preparing minutes for regular meetings
Underwriting training
Analyse the quality of data presented in underwriting submissions and be prepared to reject any data that does not meet the required standard
Regulatory Responsibilities
Assist with the completion of all required annual product review assessments to agreed timescales with approvals obtained and recorded
Follow all Chaucer Group Product Governance processes in the UCM and obtain appropriate approvals
Ensure that the principles of providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers are upheld by Agents and Service Providers
Skills and Competencies
Technical - Microsoft Office suite, Advanced Excel, Data Analysis, Underwriting management systems
Understanding of fundamental insurance/reinsurance concepts
Organised and able to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
Able to communicate with different levels and is adaptable
Works as part of a team
Education
3 'A' Level passes (or equivalent)
ACII qualified or studying towards ACII
