The Role:
Join the M&G Infrastructure & Real Assets team in managing a globally diversified portfolio of over $4bn in assets under management. As an Associate, you will actively contribute to sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across primary funds, co-investments, and secondaries, primarily in infrastructure, but also in adjacent sectors such as agriculture and nature-based solutions. This role offers hands-on exposure to the full investment lifecycle, with opportunities to deepen your asset class expertise and build execution and portfolio management capabilities in a high-performing, globally active team.
The team is at an exciting inflection point. It has historically managed capital on behalf of M&G’s internal asset owner, the Prudential Assurance Company, but has recently launched innovative and uniquely positioned products to support third party capital growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a key member of a small deal team to perform due diligence on investment opportunities, contributing directly to Investment Committee materials and decision-making.
- Drive execution of investments, coordinating legal, tax, and operational workstreams to ensure timely and effective closings.
- Monitor investments by reviewing quarterly and annual reports, participating in portfolio update calls, and attending fund annual meetings.
- Contribute to special projects including portfolio analytics, industry research, and market updates for internal strategy and external client use.
- Partner with team members to deliver fundraising materials, thematic research, and client reporting - including impact reporting - that support client engagement and product strategy.
- Represent M&G at fund annual meetings and relevant industry events to stay informed on market developments and maintain professional visibility.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience in private markets infrastructure banking/advisory/investing
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to work with stakeholders across the organisation and externally.
- Strong analytical skills and technical competence to interpret complex information to support effective decision-making, including financial modelling capabilities.
- A conscientious manner, self-starter with good attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Comfortable managing competing priorities and working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Organised, proactive, and intellectually curious, with the interpersonal skills to thrive in a dynamic team setting.
- Working towards CFA or a similar qualification is preferred.
