HSBC Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of HSBC Asset Management, investing globally in a wide spectrum of alternatives asset classes which include private market funds, hedge funds, real estate, infrastructure, private debt and venture capital, and has AUM of $58 billion.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team as an Associate, Private Markets Portfolio & Asset Monitoring.
The Portfolio Monitoring team provide ongoing monitoring of private equity, private credit and infrastructure investments and helping to ensure the integrity and completeness of portfolio data used for portfolio monitoring and client reporting.
In This Role You Will
- Utilise advanced Excel, SQL, and Python skills to manipulate and validate large datasets related to private markets (Indirect Investments - Private Equity, Private Credit, Infra, Real estate)
- Monitor and report on private markets and fund of funds, contributing to continuous data improvement.
- Support quarterly responsibilities and collaborate with data providers.
- Assist in the design and implementation of new data projects and vendor solutions.
- Ad hoc stakeholder requests (including investment ream and Operational Due Diligence - ODD).
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Good understanding of Asset Management - Private Markets / Private Equities investment structures and Fund to Funds is essential.
- Be a high performing analyst that can demonstrate using well-developed quantitative skills to manage and analyse large datasets, transforming them into actionable insights through dashboards and automated processes is essential.
- Can evidence a high level of communication capability and be able to work with various forms of information to produce easily digestible reports and presentations is essential.
- Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across internal and external audiences is essential.
- Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities is essential.
This role is based at HSBC Office in Birmingham and has a hybrid working pattern
