Associate/Senior Associate - Corporate

This is a fantastic opportunity for a 2-6 PQE qualified lawyer to join our rapidly growing Corporate team in Birmingham working with major clients across a range of transactions including corporate acquisitions and disposals, management buy-outs/ins, private equity and venture capital investments and Equity Capital Markets transactions.

Our dynamic legal 500 ranked national corporate team operates across our Birmingham, Bristol, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and London offices, covering the full UK jurisdiction. The Birmingham Corporate team is at the forefront of TLT’s rapid expansion in the city, to which the firm’s commitment is underlined by the transformational move to new office space in One Centenary Way due to take place in the early Spring of this year.

Your Role

As an Associate or Senior Associate, you will deliver the following:

• Work as part of a close-knit team, in which there are no rigid sub-teams with all team members working with each other on a full range of M&A transactions, including corporate acquisitions and disposals, management buy-outs/ins, private equity and venture capital investments and Equity Capital Markets transactions.
• Advise a range of clients from large listed and unlisted companies, PE/VC backed companies, mid-market PE investors, venture capital firms, ambitious management teams and founder shareholders.
• Support the Partners and senior team on our business development strategy, including profile-raising events and communications.
• Support with the development of Paralegals and Trainees.

Your Skills and Experience

You will have/be:

• A Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered). We expect that the suitable candidate will be 2-6 PQE, with experience gained in a highly regarded corporate team.
• Experience working on complex mid-market M&A, VC and PE transactions and/or ECM transactions is beneficial.
• A forward thinker, with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills, you will be self-motivated with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines.
• An enthusiasm for business development essential as part of a rapidly expanding team.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of your client’s business needs.
