We’re looking for an
Associate Software Engineer to our web engineering at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc.
This role will be focused on helping us continuously drive-up high quality and secure applications through implementing our best practices and standards. You'll be working with the latest technologies and keeping our software currency fresh. Working closely with our Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, Cloud Engineers and Test Engineers to shape the quality of our products and platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Helping us create highly available web Apps to onboard customers into the bank, using JavaScript/Typescript, React, NodeJS and Java. Apps are built on AWS.
- As an associate software engineer, we’d be looking to you to build features and technical proofs of concept, working alongside with senior and lead software engineers to assist in design and discovery phases ultimately enhancing our engineering team.
- You’ll be key in delivering features through route to live changes in an Agile way of working.
We need you to have
- Understanding of writing software in JavaScript and/or Typescript and the ecosystem
- Basic experience with IDEs
- Understanding on software design patterns and principles
- Appreciation of web security concepts
- Understanding of Unit Testing concepts
- Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- A degree in computing, software engineering or related field OR experience in software engineering role
And if you have any of these, even better
- Understanding of TypeScript
- Understanding of AWS services
- Understanding of containerisation technologies
- Knowledge of Agile practises and ceremonies
