About ITP:
Integrated Transport Planning (ITP) is our UK-based team of transport planners and engineers. We work with clients who are focused on accelerating the ongoing sustainable mobility and energy transitions that are central to reducing and mitigating the most harmful impacts of climate change. The Role:
We’re looking for an experienced and driven transport economists to manage and oversee the business case, transport economics and financial appraisal workload of the ITP Advisory Group in the UK. With exceptional transport planning technical skills including economic appraisal, strategy and business case development for transport schemes, you’ll provide technical leadership and project management support across a range of multidisciplinary projects for new and existing clients and will be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients in the sector.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a strong consultancy background, with a proven track record of economic appraisal, strategy and business case development for minor and major transport schemes and complex financial and economic appraisal projects for public and private sector clients in the UK.
- Have a sound understanding of place-based economics, land-value uplift/capture, and joined-up land-use and transport planning applications of economic and financial appraisal techniques for spatial growth and urban regeneration scheme proposals.
- Be capable of maintaining relationships with existing ITP public and private sector clients, additionally identifying and realising new commercial opportunities for generating project work from key clients.
- Have a growing network of industry contacts and positive client referrals.
- Have demonstrable experience of managing, inspiring and developing teams of consultancy staff; whilst supporting them on their career journeys.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, using a range of formats to convey complex ideas.
- Hold a relevant professional qualification such as TPP (or equivalent).
- Contribute to the advancement of their profession and the broader industry by:
- Participating in relevant professional associations, working groups, or industry forums.
- Sharing expertise through speaking engagements, publications, or thought leadership.
- Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Supporting the development of industry standards or contributing to policy discussions.
- Mentoring peers or early-career professionals.
