The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Automotive Bonding Solutions Sales Lead (m/f/*) for 3M Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division, you will be leading our targeted sales approach into the Automotive Industry in the North Europe Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth by developing relationships within the OEM’s and tiers across the industry providing unrivalled bonding solutions primarily in automotive interiors and e-bonding. In the role you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, You Will Make An Impact By
- Leading and curating our Automotive sales strategy for North Europe—primarily focused on the UK and extending coverage across the Nordic countries.
- Engaging directly with OEMs and Tier suppliers across mass-production, prestige, and motorsport brands; coordinating with our aligned channel partners.
- Interfacing across customer functions—Purchasing, Design, Development Engineering, and Program Management—to drive specification and adoption.
- Owning the full sales pipeline from prospecting to close, delivering annual closed-won targets and accurate forecasting.
- Building and sharing market intelligence to inform account tactics and regional strategy; supporting marketing programs to elevate our brand.
- Collaborating with experts in application engineering to find customer solutions from our vast portfolio operating across the bonding continuum and help shape future product developments.
- Partnering across 3M sister divisions and global colleagues on key accounts to share expertise and accelerate collective success.
- Defining and executing clear short, medium, and long-term growth plans for the region and priority accounts.
Your Skills And Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:
- Proven track record (ideally 5+ years) in B2B technical sales and to automotive OEMs and Tier suppliers preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and stakeholder management across multiple functions and levels.
- Ability to sell consultatively and value-based, engaging both engineering and purchasing stakeholders.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles, opportunity pipelines, and accurate forecasting in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the UK and occasionally to Sweden, Denmark or Finland. A valid driver’s license required
- Language: English required.
- Excellent communication skills; proactive, self-driven, and organised with strong follow-through.
Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Engineering, Materials Science, Business, equivalent subjects or relevant vocational qualifications or experience.
- Experience with adhesives and tapes preferred.
- Comfortable reading drawings/specifications and collaborating with application engineering to develop solutions
Job Specifics
- Located in the UK, ideally in the Midlands. This is a remote role (field based)
- Assigned territory: UK and occasionally Sweden, Denmark or Finland.
- Travel expectations: Typically, 3 to 4 days a week out visiting customers and key stakeholders. International travel 1-2 times per quarter may be required.
