We are seeking an experienced Aviation Sector Lead to play a key role in delivering Aviation projects, leading high-performing teams, and driving business growth within our Aviation sector.

This role combines hands-on technical cost management with strategic, commercial and people leadership, supporting the long-term growth and success of the business.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial delivery of large-scale Aviation projects, while also leading service capability, client relationships, and team development within your area of responsibility.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading cost management and estimating activities across major projects, from cost planning through to final account, spanning 15 years+.

Day-to-day management of projects including procurement, change control, valuations, cost reporting, and client presentations

Knowledge sharing within sector and across markets as well as providing oversight and assurance support

Managing post-contract cost control, change management, and final account negotiation

Leading service delivery for key clients, strengthening relationships and identifying cross-sell opportunities

Taking responsibility for revenue, profit and loss, and supporting growth targets agreed with senior leadership as well as reviewing annual budgets

Support key opportunities and participate in key client meetings

Ensuring robust project governance, commercial controls, and compliance with contracts (including NEC) and client governance requirements

Managing and developing teams, including recruitment, performance management, mentoring, and succession planning

Forecasting workload and resourcing requirements to support sustainable delivery

Providing clear leadership, resolving priorities, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and best practice

Supporting senior leadership with regular progress and performance updates

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience delivering cost management services large, complex aviation projects, ideally in a regulated or infrastructure environment over 15 years+.
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, procurement routes, and commercial change control
Experience managing clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders at all levels
Commercially astute, with experience managing fees, budgets, and profitability
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
Confident communicator, able to influence outcomes in challenging situations
Experience contributing to business growth through client development and bidding
Strong understanding of project controls, reporting, and information management
Commitment to quality, health & safety, and governance standards
Degree in quantity surveying
