Job Description
The Role :
With Group IT-based in London and Manchester, we are expanding the in-house Azure Infrastructure team with an Azure Infrastructure Technician to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Tech function. Following the successful migrationof servers and services to Azure, the role will understand the server architecture across the Group, and will oversee and manage the changes and support provided by third party providers. The role will be looking to modernise and simplify our environment, working with the Azure platform engineers and architect function as well as third-party vendors to deliver roadmaps towards automation and efficiencies across the environment.
The role is based in the Canopius Tech & Data hub in Manchester with occasional travel to the London office. Hybrid home working is supported.
Responsibilities Will Include
- Monitoring and responding to incidents across Azure platform.
- Investigate and diagnose core infrastructure-related incidents reported by other teams and clients, and liaise with 3rd party vendors and service providers.
- Analyse and upgrade main systems as directed. This includes Windows stack product upgrades, end-user compute, and network infrastructure components
- Assist in identifying and resolving IaaS infrastructure issues within the estate.
- Amending PowerShell scripts under the direction of Azure infrastructure engineer.
- Investigate 1 st and 2 nd line backup issues within the azure environment
- Follow change control procedures and submit/manage changes at the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB).
Skills And Experience
- Experience of supporting Azure solutions
- Experience a similar technical environment and will be familiar with Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Incident Management
- Experience supporting Azure technology
- Linux and Windows Administration
- Good written and verbal communication
- Good documentation skills
