Rate: £350 - £400 Per Day
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Azure Security SME to join on an initial 3-month contract to assess and enhance BAU security processes within our Azure environment. The primary focus will be ensuring that insights from Microsoft Defender and related Azure-native security tools are effectively embedded into Security Operations workflows. This role will work closely with the SOC and other security stakeholders to review current practices, improve operational effectiveness, and implement new processes where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review existing BAU Azure security processes and identify areas for improvement or optimisation.
- Ensure threat intelligence and telemetry from Microsoft Defender (for Cloud, Endpoint, etc.) are operationalised within security workflows.
- Collaborate with Security Operations to embed actionable insights into incident detection and response.
- Design and document enhanced or new operational processes based on the information being received from Azure.
- Provide clear documentation and ensure effective handover to internal teams.
- Offer expert guidance on Azure security best practices and operational security strategy.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure security tools, including Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and Sentinel.
- Strong understanding of operational security within cloud and hybrid environments.
- Proven ability to assess, refine, and implement security processes in a BAU setting.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Self-driven with the ability to work independently and deliver outcomes within tight timelines
