ScotRail is offering an exciting opportunity for you to join our flexible engineering team. Our four Maintenance Depots and In-Service Fleet Engineering (ISFE) team are strategically located across Scotland and are responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of both diesel & electric trains to ensure they remain fully operational and provide a reliable service for our customers. You will have responsibility for carrying out rail vehicle movements /shunting, servicing and repair of diesel multiple units. All responsibilities will be carried out in compliance with local Safety & Quality Procedures.

- Willing to learn shunting procedures.
- Formal engineering and shunting qualifications would be desirable
- Ability to drive road motor vehicle is desirable.

Hours of work: A rotating three-shift cycle, which involves day, back and night shift. Weekend working is compulsory. The working week will be an average of 35 hours.
Reference salary £47,489 per annum, Training salary £42,754 per annum.
Selection Process
Selection process: Candidates short-listed will be invited to complete online assessment and attend an assessment centre. Following assessment successful candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be a medical examination and drug & alcohol screening. Training initially involves a 2-day virtual induction Training Programme.
Medical Fitness: Due to the nature of the post and rail industry safety requirements there are certain medical & fitness standards that you would require to meet.
