Description
You are invited to apply to an Assistant Psychologist post in the Eating Disorders Service. The post-holder will work as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting and enhancing the psychological treatment of service users in the In-patient and Day Treatment Services, under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist or psychological therapist.

This is an exciting role within the In-patient and Day Treatment Services. The primary roles of this post will be to take part in the delivery of the group programme including planning and co-facilitating therapeutic groups; supporting the multidisciplinary team in rehabilitation work for service users; providing post-meal support; and contributing to the overall enhancement of a psychologically informed environment. There will also be opportunities to participate in research and audit activities and to support teaching and training programmes within the service. Being allied to the multi-disciplinary team in the Eating Disorders Service, the post holder will act as a member of the team, attend meetings and contribute to informing patients' psychological care within the team.

Under the supervision of a qualified and suitably experienced psychologist / psychological therapist:

To take part in the facilitation of the group programme, including planning and running of therapeutic groups within in-patient and day treatment services

To provide post-meal support for in-patients and/or day patients

To involve in short-term and discrete individual work with clients as appropriate, according to levels of skills and experience

To attend clinical reviews and other multi-disciplinary meeting

To attend regular individual clinical supervision

To undertake specific duties as appointed pertaining to service governance objectives including planning, data collection and analysis, report writing and presentation. This will necessitate the substantive use of IT equipment and software.

To undertake/contribute to teaching, training, health promotion research and related activities of the service.

To undertake personal appraisal and continuing professional development activities as agreed with the relevant line manager including general training as mandatory within the policies and procedures of the Trust.

To liaise with professional colleagues, operational managers, referral agencies, affiliated organisations and academic departments as relevant to this post.
