Band 5 MRI Radiographer

We have an exciting MRI training opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Band 5 Radiographer to join our MRI team based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary range on offer.

Our main hospital spans 8 floors and comprises 234 beds, 10 theatres (including a hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive/day surgery theatres), an endoscopy unit, a radiology unit, dialysis and a 13-bed intensive care unit. We have over 1,300 staff working in specialist teams across all clinical and non-clinical areas, combined with over 900 consultant surgeons and physicians.

The London Clinic has a state-of-the-art imaging department providing diagnostic services which range from General radiology through to complex Interventional procedures. We have a dedicated Breast imaging suite as well as our modern Nuclear Medicine department, where we have a gamma camera and PET/CT scanner, offering a full range of examinations. This is in addition to our busy CT, MR and Ultrasound disciplines.

Job Profile

As a MRI Radiographer you will assist in the provision of MRI scans for patients, working closely with the Band 6 and 7 Radiographers, to ensure a high standard of patient care, and participate in the monitoring of standards.

Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Shifts: Monday to Saturday as per roster with participation in on-call and overtime.

Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW (close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).

Salary: TBC inclusive per annum based on skills and experience.

Key Duties

• To Assist in MRI procedures and be able to perform MRI examinations safely.
• To operate accurately and safely complex radiological equipment, requiring a high degree of manual dexterity.
• To ensure that all the documentation relating to an examination is appropriately organised to ensure rapid and accurate transit through the Administrative and Clerical systems of the Directorate.
• To work unsupervised and participate in on-call and weekend work when training is completed and competencies have been signed off
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Hold a BSc in Radiography or equivalent.
• HCPC registered.
• To be familiar with a computerised patient information system (RIS/Soliton and PACS)
• To have a basic experience in MRI environment
• Previous cannulation experience is desirable but not essential and full training will be provided.
