Band 5 Occupational Therapist
Full time. Permanent. Term time only.
Following recent expansion of our student numbers, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Occupational Therapy team at Shaftesbury Victoria School in Poole, Dorset. The successful applicant will be motivated, enthusiastic and ready to join our skilled multidisciplinary therapy team.
Our vibrant school supports students aged 3-19 with primarily physical and medical needs and associated learning difficulties. We also cater for a number of students with Autistic Spectrum Condition. We are a fully inclusive and integrated school that inspires and creates a calm and nurturing environment.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering occupational therapy assessments and interventions to children with a variety of developmental disorders, as well as managing a diverse caseload. Working closely with families and other professionals, you will provide an excellent quality of care and act as a source of information, support and advice.
Ideally, you will have some experience working with children either in a special school or paediatric occupational therapy setting. Additional qualifications or experience within sensory integration would be an advantage, but not essential. We welcome applications from newly qualified Occupational Therapists with the right skill set.

Essential Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Some experience working with children and young adults
- Understanding of manual handling and safe moving practices
- Working in a multidisciplinary or multi-agency team
