• Weekdays: £19.50 per hour
• Saturdays & Nights: £23.50 per hour
• Sundays & Bank Holidays: £28.50 per hour

An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Band 5 Registered General Nurse to join a busy Emergency Department in Blackpool. This role is ideal for an RGN with acute or emergency care experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and is looking for flexible working alongside ongoing contract stability.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred emergency care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, and support patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions.

Role Overview

As a Band 5 Emergency Department Nurse, you will provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients during some of their most critical moments. You will be responsible for rapid assessment, ongoing monitoring, and delivery of evidence-based nursing interventions in line with clinical guidelines and hospital policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care within a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in line with clinical protocols
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to clinical deterioration
• Work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Maintain clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
• Provide reassurance, information, and emotional support to patients and families
• Adhere to infection control, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements

Essential Requirements

• Registered General Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration
• Previous experience in an Emergency Department or acute care setting
• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
• Flexible approach to shift work
