An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Band 6 nurse, with a District Nursing Specialist qualification, to join the Enfield District Nursing service. 

The post offers the opportunity to manage your own caseload whilst providing leadership and supervision to a team of nurses in order to ensure high clinical standards of care.

 They will be responsible for the holistic assessment, planning and delivery of high-quality patient care both within the patient’s own homes and clinic settings.

They will need to be highly motivated, with drive, initiative and enthusiasm and be an energetic natural leader with great people skills and commitment towards self-development.

They will work as part of an integrated community team and with acute, primary and social care partners to put in place package of cares and prevent hospital admission wherever this is feasible.

While evidence of collaborative teamwork, good team leadership and management skills are essential, you will be fully supported by the Team manager.

The District Nursing Caseload manager will lead a team of Registered Nurses and  Nursing Associate and Health Care Assistants in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for patients, in negotiation with the patient, supporting  and  involving carers as appropriate.

The role requires prescribing safely, effectively, and cost-effectively in line with Enfield Community Services policy and national guidelines. To ensure that prescribing competencies are maintained through a suitable reflective framework.

The Post holder is expected to be actively involved in some teachings to both undergraduate and post graduate nurses. The role requires the supervision and assessment of the ongoing clinical practice of team members and to be responsible for their performance appraisal review. Also, in conjunction with the Specialist District Nurse identify the training needs of staff.

The post holder ensures effective liaison with community nursing teams to organize agreed packages of care using a multi-disciplinary approach. To work closely with appropriate health and social care professionals.
