Description
The post holder will be one of the band 6 junior sister/charge nurses’ team, creating strong senior leadership, working closely with the Sister / Charge Nurse. To work on a rota working over 7 days 8am – 8pm.

The Post Holder Will Be Expected To

Develop skills as a positive role model, who has the ability to reflect on practice & has a willingness to develop leadership & management skills with support & guidance.

Possess good communication skills working closely with individuals & teams to develop & maintain services.

Dedication to provide a high standard of service & a flexibility to cover needs of service to ensure success & fulfilment

Evidence of continuing professional & personal development

Support the CDC services when there is a medical emergency, managing unwell patients within all specialities and patients affected by adverse reaction to contrast.

Provide simulation training for CDC services for medical emergency scenarios

To be responsible for the unsupervised assessment of patient care needs and the

development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care, ensuring high standards of

evidence-based care using a defined model of care – for patients within the CDC who are

unwell or suffering with adverse reaction to contrast.

  • To undertake all nursing procedures and practices as specified in the Trusts policies and

procedures and to ensure that they are adhered to by all staff, within own management

responsibility. To contribute towards the development of relevant evidence based clinical

guidelines.

  • To communicate with patients and significant others with empathy and reassurance

regarding assessment and care

  • To provide psychological support to patients and their carers in coping with their illness

and treatment, support as appropriate

  • Work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure patients have access to appropriate timely

good quality information relating to their diagnosis and be active in the delivery of this

information to patients.

  • To ensure transport patients leave the service in a timely manner and support patients
