Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist - Dermatology
The Dermatology nursing team at the Royal Free Site, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated Band 6 Paediatric CNS, to join our friendly and established team. Multidisciplinary team working is key, and you will be working alongside, the existing clinical nurse specialists and the medical team.
The ideal candidate will already be working at Band 6 level or above and possess a high level of knowledge and expertise within the speciality of dermatology. Previous experience working in Dermatology is fundamental to this role, to facilitate a range of Paediatric Dermatology nurse led clinics.
As a CNS you will be expected to assess the psychological burden of skin disease, through various models and scoring systems. In addition to this, the role of the Paediatric Dermatology CNS is educating the patient and their families, to better manage their skin condition. Therefore, the ideal candidate will possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to enable them to achieve this in a sensitive manner.
The Specialist Nurse Will Be Required
- To liaise with all key members of the multidisciplinary team.
To advise and support colleagues in the delivery of specialised patient care across professional boundaries.
- To undertake various nurse led services; ensuring excellent standards of nursing care to patients.
- To work autonomously to deliver specialist clinical care, appropriate to the needs of the patient group and based on principles that are research based and which enhance the quality of patient care.
- To contribute to the facilitation of the planning, delivery and evaluation of care pathways for Dermatology patients.
- To participate in the development of staff within the multidisciplinary team providing support, advice, formal and informal education.
- To assist in the research and audit process.
