We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 7) to join our multidisciplinary HIV team at the Ian Charleson Day Centre, Royal Free Hospital. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, working 0.6 WTE (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday).The post holder will deliver a specialist psychological service to people living with HIV, including those with co-morbid conditions such as hepatitis, cancer, and neurological illnesses. The role involves providing psychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, and consultation within a holistic framework of care. You will also support service development through supervision, research, audit, and teaching. The service offers flexible care, including remote appointments and online webinars.
Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions for individuals referred to the HIV service.
Address psychological challenges impacting HIV care, including adjustment to diagnosis, stigma, mental health, and treatment adherence.
Deliver psychological support for patients with complex co-morbidities such as hepatitis, cancer, and neurological conditions.
Offer consultation and specialist advice to the wider multidisciplinary team regarding patients’ psychological care and risk management.
Provide clinical supervision and line management to trainee clinical/counselling psychologists.
Contribute to service development, including audit, evaluation, and quality improvement activities.
Deliver care via a mix of in-person, telephone, and video consultations, and help facilitate online webinars.
Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with Trust and professional standards.
Work in accordance with Royal Free values, safeguarding responsibilities, and infection control policies.
