About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, with 31 offices in 21 countries worldwide.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The role:
As a Business Development (BD) Manager within our M&A-focused practice, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategies that drive client relationship growth and profitable revenue. You'll work closely with the Firm's Clients and Sectors teams to ensure alignment with broader strategic goals, leveraging product insights and data-led intelligence to identify opportunities, foster cross-selling, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. This role sits within our global Business Development & Marketing (BDM) function-a collaborative and collegiate team dedicated to driving growth and enhancing the firm's reputation.
Your key responsibilities:
Drive growth across the M&A space by developing and implementing BD plans aligned with global objectives and Firm strategy.
Build strong networks across BD teams and the BDM function to support strategic connectivity and cross-selling.
Develop and execute client growth plans and M&A-led go-to-market campaigns targeting priority sectors and markets.
Provide strategic input into win strategies, pitch and panel submissions focused on M&A.
Use data-led insights and market intelligence for opportunity spotting, horizon scanning, and pipeline management.
Gather and analyse client feedback and external trends to inform BD strategies and identify cross-selling opportunities.
Leverage global tools, technology, and shared services to deliver targeted, M&A-oriented insights and ensure process alignment.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in business development within legal services, ideally in Corporate/M&A, with a strong track record of identifying and driving growth opportunities.
Ability to develop and implement BD strategies aligned with organisational goals and provide strategic input into pitches and panel submissions.
Strong collaboration skills across global teams and sectors, with experience leveraging global tools and resources to enhance BD effectiveness.
Advanced analytical skills, including the use of data insights, market intelligence, and technology to inform BD activities and generate actionable opportunities.
A degree in marketing, business, or a related field; advanced leadership or marketing qualifications are desirable.
What's on offer:
This role can be based in our London offices, with a hybrid working model available.
Joining Team Linklaters will see you qualify for a range of benefits designed to reward the vital contribution you'll be making to our success. These include:
