BEV Thermal Systems Integration Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Thermal Systems Integration Engineer to join our team in the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) domain. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in complex system design, thermal system development, and cross-functional integration. You will play a key role in defining, integrating, and validating thermal systems for next-generation electric vehicles, working across engineering functions to ensure optimal performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end integration of thermal systems in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) architectures.
• Develop and manage system-level thermal requirements using tools such as Teamcenter Requirements Management (TRM) or equivalent.
• Cascade and align system-level requirements to sub-systems and components (cooling loops, HVAC, battery thermal management systems, etc.).
• Design, review, and optimize thermal system architecture to meet vehicle performance, efficiency, and regulatory targets.
• Oversee interface management across thermal, powertrain, battery, and HVAC systems to ensure seamless integration.
• Support and validate thermal performance analysis using simulation tools (e.g., AMESim, GT-Suite, Simulink) and testing methods (desirable).
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, controls, testing, and validation teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks in system design and integration early in the development cycle.
• Participate in and lead technical reviews, FMEAs, design validations, and system verifications.
• Ensure all deliverables are completed in line with project milestones and standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or related field.
• 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in thermal system engineering within the automotive or XHEV/BEV domain.
• Strong experience in complex systems design and integration.
• Proficiency in authoring and cascading requirements using TRM or equivalent tools.
• In-depth knowledge of thermal systems in electric vehicles: battery cooling, e-motor cooling, HVAC, and heat exchangers.
• Experience in managing system interfaces across vehicle domains.
• Exposure to thermal performance simulation and analysis tools (e.g., AMESim, GT-Suite, MATLAB/Simulink) is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of automotive development life cycles, standards, and validation procedures.
• Strong communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in the EV domain.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Understanding of vehicle-level thermal strategy optimization.
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) as it relates to thermal systems.
