Location: This role is based in Manchester Square One or Milton Keynes. This role is a full-time opportunity, flexible working patterns will be considered. For Quadrant:MK, you must live within 75 minutes.
Band & Salary: (Band 4c) £43,588 - £50,018
Brief Description
In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new requirements and leading the development and management of training, benefits realisation, and communications related to Business Intelligence (BI) across Network Rail. Your work will enhance BI skills and competencies among BI and data professionals, while also showcasing improvements and efficiencies delivered by the Group BI Service.

We’re shaping a thriving BI and Data landscape that empowers smarter decision-making across Network Rail. As a key part of the Group BI Service, you’ll help lead the prioritisation of initiatives and drive benefits realisation, working closely with Customers to deliver measurable value across the organisation. You'll build a culture of expertise by developing and curating our BI Service training curriculum—spreading knowledge, enhancing skills, and elevating BI capability across the network.
What does the average day look like?
You’ll work closely with the the Data Engineering and Visualisation teams in the BI service to shape and prioritise the BI pipeline, ensuring it delivers measurable benefits across the organisation. A key part of your role involves managing the BI training curriculum and planning learning events to build capability and professionalism in BI across Network Rail. You’ll also lead communications—developing campaigns, managing the BI Community, and promoting best practice and new tools. Your day may include gathering requirements for new BI products, tracking benefits from released solutions, and driving service improvements based on customer feedback and compliance monitoring. It’s a varied and collaborative role, central to the success and evolution of the Group BI Service.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll bring strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Office 365 knowledge, and proven experience in benefits management, communications, and cross-functional collaboration. Confident in facilitating knowledge sharing and creating content across multiple channels, you’ll also have a good understanding of data governance.
Essential Criteria
- Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Knowledge of benefits identification and management approaches
- Proven strong analytical skills
- Demonstrable experience of working with and facilitating multifunctional groups
- Experience of creating opportunities for information and knowledge sharing e.g. establishing and running Working Groups or Communities of Practice
- Proven ability to communicate effectively through multiple channels, including written, verbal and presentation
- Proven experience of writing communications and bulletins
- Demonstrable advanced knowledge of core Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Demonstrable excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of coding languages
