Big Data Developer

Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Big Data Developer (Entry-Level) to support the development, testing, and maintenance of large-scale data processing solutions. This role is ideal for graduates or early-career professionals who want hands-on exposure to big data technologies and distributed systems while working under the guidance of senior data engineers.

You will contribute to building data pipelines, processing large datasets, and supporting analytics and reporting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Big Data Development

• Assist in developing and maintaining big data applications and pipelines
• Support batch and basic real-time data processing tasks
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

Data Processing & Integration

• Help ingest data from multiple sources into big data platforms
• Support ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data
• Validate and transform data to ensure accuracy and consistency

Platforms & Tools

• Work with big data frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop

Collaboration & Learning

• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and platform teams
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Continuously learn big data tools, technologies, and best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must Have)

Foundational knowledge of:

• Python, Java, or Scala
• Data structures and basic algorithms

Basic understanding of:

• Big data concepts and distributed systems
• SQL and relational databases

Familiarity with:

• Linux command line
• Version control systems (Git)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn and grow in a big data environment

Preferred / Advantageous Skills

Exposure to:

• Apache Spark, Hadoop, Hive, or Kafka (academic or lab experience acceptable)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP – basic level)

Academic projects, internships, or coursework in:

• Big Data
• Data Engineering
• Software Engineering

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in:
• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Data Engineering
• Software Engineering
• Or a related technical field

Certifications (Advantage)

• Entry-level or foundational certifications such as:
• AWS Cloud Practitioner
• Azure Fundamentals
• Google Associate Cloud Engineer
